How to Lose Weight When You Weigh 200 Lbs or More

200 lbs

Are you looking to lose weight if you weigh 200 lbs or more? I’m sure it’s a journey you must have tried a couple of times without any meaningful success.

It may make you cry if you start to think about it, but let’s start this article on a positive note.

Forget about the past, it’s gone. Focus only on the present.

200 lbs

There has been a record of emotional pain associated with this kind of weight gain. But here is the only truth you need to worry yourself about…

What matters most is the present. Yes, you can blame yourself or others for your current condition but that wouldn’t help anyone and it will change nothing.

Just focus on the present moment.

  • Where you currently are in life…
  • Where you want to go…
  • Things you want to accomplish…
  • The experiences you are yet to have and
  • The people you want to meet….

These are the only things you have any power over!

So why bother yourself!

It’s going to take time and energy, but it’s very possible.

And like every good thing in life, the transformation will not happen overnight. It may take you over a year to lose weight.

That’s fine.

You will notice that a year will fly by just like last year and the previous years before that. And by this time next year, you can be in a better, happier and healthier place than you could imagine.

It may also be a tough journey.

But look at the alternative if you don’t lose weight now!

This time next year you are where you are today and you look back and think, regretfully I might add, that you wished you had started to lose weight then.

If you follow these 7 steps to the end, you will get quick results and can be on the right track every step of the way…

1. Do NOT exercise.

Most people make this mistake.

And No! This is not a typo.

When you weigh 200 lbs or more and are trying to lose weight, the last thing on your mind should be to exercise.

There are many reasons for this but the main one is that your heart will not be ready for the heavy breathing that comes with exercise and since your heart has not had that kind of workout for a while, it can malfunction… which leads to slumping or… in worst cases… death.

Also, exercising plays only a small role when it comes to weight loss. The main job of exercise is for a healthy heart.

It all comes down to WHAT YOU EAT!

Let all your focus be on what you eat.

Exercise will put unnecessary stress on your joints and is a BIG RISK at 200+ lbs.

You can still go out for a walk but running or jumping on a treadmill will lower your chances of getting any long-term success at this size.

2. Do NOT worry yourself over calories.

This is not the stage for you to worry about counting your calorie intake.

Because of the excess fat in your body, it is VERY likely that the body hormones have been severely damaged.

When you count calories, sometimes the weight won’t move a pound and even when it does, it won’t drop fast enough.

Just focus on nourishing your body with good and healthy food.

3. Do NOT do the “small changes” approach.

Minor changes lead to minor results. Do you want minor changes or major changes? It’s all up to you.

According to the latest science, militant diets win out vs. standard diets. Those who lose the most weight in the first 2-4 weeks of dieting have the greatest weight loss results in the following year (1).

When you lose weight fast, you get the motivation to lose some more weight.

It gives you momentum.

4. Heal your digestive tract.

Because of the amount of food you have eaten, it’s likely it has damaged your body’s gut bacteria and it’s ability to properly absorb nutrients. This means even when you do eat healthily, the body is not processing it well.

But the good news is that it is very easy to heal the digestive tract.

Drink apple cider vinegar and take a good probiotics supplement every day.

5. Take more high-quality protein.

For every one who is 200+ pounds, one fact is true… they are not getting enough high quality protein.

Overeating is nearly impossible if you eat enough high quality protein because you will be too full and satisfied to eat more of the unhealthy stuff.

Eat more foods like lean chicken breasts, whole eggs, salmon, and grass-fed beef during EVERY MEAL.

6. Do a month-long carbohydrate detox.

You will have to reduce your carbohydrate intake to a bare minimum because the chances that your body is insulin-resistant at this level is 90%+.

This goes hand-in-hand with the hormonal problems the body experiences at this weight, especially with insulin.

7. Drink lemon water EVERY MORNING.

This is important.

And it works for many reasons and one of them is that it is one of the easiest healthy habits to implement.

The drink gives your body many crucial nutrients and is EASY to do.

Make sure you use real lemon fruits and not lemon juice.

Squeeze one half of a lemon into a glass of water in the morning and drink it. If it’s possible, drink it through a straw to avoid the erosion of tooth enamel.
