The great thing is that you may never get cancer… that’s if you play your cards right and dedicate yourself to living a healthy lifestyle.
Many of the causes of cancer are completely avoidable because most of them are directly related to lifestyle.
Although there are many areas like the use of tobacco, dieting and exercise you can use as your main line of defense; there are many more subtle areas you can hack to make sure you never get this illness.
This post will show you what those areas are and how you can protect yourself to make sure you live a fully healthy lifestyle:
1. Avoid the use of tobacco
This is supposed to be the most obvious one but many people still disobey.
Perhaps maybe it’s due to the fact that most are already addicted and would need professional help to quit.
Also due to the fact that some don’t know the severity of the situation because they have never experienced it firsthand; or have never seen someone experience it.
How to Reduce Your Use of Tobacco
There are 2 major ways I advice people to reduce their use of tobacco:
- Weaning yourself gradually and
- Using hypnotherapy
Weaning yourself gradually: This means if you normally take 10 sticks of cigarette a day, each day you reduce it by one stick.
I also call it tricking your body to want less and less tobacco until you feel you can go a whole day without it.
Hypnotherapy has been known to be a very fast way to stop any bad habit.
But you must trust the hypnotherapist because I’m also super wary of allowing someone enter my head without me being conscious.
2. Avoid too much exposure to the sun
Especially mid-day sun from 10am-4pm.
Too much UV light which can increase your risk of skin cancer.
Wear clothes that can cover your body and protect you from the sun.
Spray on tans are not completely risk free also.
3. Take care of yourself, Sexually
Apart from the HIV and Aids virus associated mostly with unprotected sex; having unproteted sex, especially with many partners can make you contact the HPV virus, (human papillomavirus); which can cause cervical and vaginal cancer in women and also cause penile cancer in men.
It can also cause throat and anal cancer in both men and women.
4. Stop taking unnecessary scans
As radiation can cause cancer, over-using the CT scans in the hospitals; which by the way are a great tool for diagnosing illnesses and diseases, can increase your risk of getting cancer.
5. Notice the pains in your body
If you notice that you have a bloated stomach, pain in your pelvic region and feel the need to urinate most of the time, then you should see your doctor because these are the symptoms of ovarian cancer.
Many women and physician usually ignore these symptoms and that is the very reason the disease can spread and become very dangerous.
If caught early on, the 5 year survival rate is a whooping 90-95%.
6. Drink Milk
Calcium can protect you against cancer according to recent studies.
In a study, the participants who took 700mg or more of calcium in a day had up to 45% reduced risk of getting colon cancer than those that took 500mg and less of calcium in a day.
7. Reduce fried foods
When you bake or fry foods, a compound called acrylamide is formed which is a potential cancer-causing compound.
Studies have shown that if you have a prolonged exposure to this compound, you expose yourself to multiple types of cancer. These studies were done on rats.
The human studies is still in progress.
Even so, it is healthy and wise to eat less fried foods as they also contribute to many diseases and illnesses that occur today in the world like obesity and heart failure.
8. Increase your physical activities
Women who engage in daily exercises have a 30-40% lower chance of getting breast cancer than the women who don’t normally exercise their bodies.
Exercising lowers your blood estrogen level, which is a hormone that can increase your risk of breast cancer.
Walk for at least 30 minutes a day or 4 hours a week to reduce your risk of pancreatic cancer, according to studies.
9. Eat more fruits and vegetables
Eating fruits and vegetables have proven to be a high cancer preventing measure.
There are many reasons to take fruits and vegetables daily which improves our overall health in the long run, including preventing you from getting cancer.
Make sure you have a healthy amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet daily so that you can enjoy an overall healthy lifestyle.

According to the doctor that wrote the book, a 60-something year old man had the body and energy of a 20-something year old city person.
Mostly because their main food is eating the fruits and vegetables they have at their disposal.
I’m not saying eat vegetables like a rabbit, although if you’re contemplating becoming a vegetarian is a very good choice, I’m just saying you should eat a substantial amount of fruits and vegetables so you could lose weight and live healthy for a long time.
10. Make sure your bedroom is dark when you want to sleep
I have been doing this for a long time now, even before I knew it is one of the cancer-preventive measures. (This is mostly because it helps me have a beautiful night sleep).
And I’m sure you have also been doing this every night.
Light suppresses melatonin, which is the chemical that regulates our sleep-wake cycles; which could increase the release of estrogen fueled cancer according to Reader’s Digest.
I normally like it pitch black… but hey, that’s just me.
11. Drink plenty of water
I think this water thing is a great natural preventive for many illness and diseases as I have used them in many of my articles on this site. (because the research pans out).
Drinking plenty water can reduce your risk of getting bladder cancer significantly.
Drink at least 3 liters of water daily for both men and women.
If we want to be specific, women should drink at least 2.7 liters of water and men should drink at least 3 liters of water daily.
12. Drink green tea
Many green tea drinkers have a reduced risk of breast, colon, prostate, lung and ovarian cancer as well as mesothelioma.
Asia have been the first people to know and value to incredible healing power of green tea and they have been using it for thousands of years.
13. Take a glass of wine
Don’t over do it though.
Drinking more than two alcoholic drinks in one day can increase your risk of different types of cancer like liver, throat and breast cancers.
14. Cancel sugary drinks from your life
Sugary foods don’t only add to your weight making you obese and giving you diabetes, it can also increase your risk of cancer, such as mesothelioma.
Taking in large amounts of sugar filled foods and drinks can increase your risk of endometrial cancer (a cancer that begins in the uterus for women) by 87%.
There are so many reasons to avoid eating sugar and many ways to stop eating sugar.

Cancer is not a very nice disease to have and has caused many deaths in the world.
Which is why I have outlined these 14 preventive measures you can take to make sure you never get cancer in your lifetime.
The main cancer preventive measure of course is to live an overall healthy lifestyle and you won’t even get a cancer scare.
Also, live in a clean environment.
