Thinking about it, you could come to ask yourself, does water really help lose weight? If I drink water will it help me lose weight fast?

The short answer is yes!

Maybe water does not directly help you lose weight like exercise, or dieting, or fasting does but it does help you not only manage your weight but also reduce it without you even knowing.

Drink Water Before You Eat

Drinking water before you eat can help you lose weight quietly because when you drink water before a meal, you have automatically filled a part of your stomach with the water which leaves little space for your food to come in and so you get filled up faster and eat less food in the process.

Ditch the Juice

Drop every form of sugary drinks and substitute it for water. If you think water is boring, try adding some lemon or lime in it for seasoning.

But wait a minute, have you ever really settled down to drink a glass of waterlike, really settle down – especially when you need it.

I have.

Especially after a tedious workout sesh (soccer), I love the feeling of drinking a nice cold glass (or 3) of water. It gives me joy.

Try it.

When you feel tired and worn out, drink a glass of cold water, it’s like heaven.

Sidenote Story: A man saw another man drinking a glass of milk and he made the following comment, “It was like pouring God into God“. Think about that for a moment.

How Much Water Should You Drink in a Day

Because we are constantly losing water from our body, it is ideal you keep your body hydrated by drinking at least 2 liters of water a day.

I drink at least 3 liters (maybe that’s why I go to the bathroom a lot).

But I think it depends on the person.

Ideally, for a normal person, you should drink at least 2 liters.

But for someone who uses his/her body a lot, like exercising and other physical activities (especially if you are in the sun all day long), you should drink more than 2 or 3 liters in a day.

Drink as much as is necessary for your body to be well hydrated.

This is because due to the many physical activities you do, your body gets rid of water faster and you get dehydrated quicker.

This means you should drink more water to keep you hydrated all day long.

Don’t Wait Till You’re Thirsty

The thing is that you don’t start to feel thirsty till you have lost at least 2 percent of the water in your body – that is the moment your body begins to suffer a little.

So don’t wait until you start to feel thirsty to drink water.

There are water apps like Waterlogged and Water Drink Reminder that will remind you to drink water every now and then.

I personally don’t use any “Drink Water App” because I always make sure there is a bottle of water near me at all times.

This is mainly because when you drink water, your body has to work on whatever it is that is entering the body. This helps burn more calories.

And seeing that water has no calories in it and can essentially be categorized as a Zero-Fat (weight loss “food”), it is the ideal nutrient to put in your body since it will help you lose weight if you drink and… you will die if you don’t. ūüôā
